Each school year becomes gradually difficult in terms of the workload students have to complete. The opened books in the background represent the countless books students have to read, while the blank page in the middle symbolizes the desire to avoid it. The build-up of the tiredness of students is illustrated through me laying down on the books with my eyes closed.
Reminiscing on my childhood, I decided to depict a time when I was always carefree, happy, and pure in black and white. The faded technique used in this piece symbolizes my hazed personality of mine as I realized that there is a future that I have to be prepared for.
